I recently set up a trial unit with a Northwest Ohio Molder. It was a 30 Zone Pulse™ Hot Runner Controller with a 480V-240V stepdown transformer. The trick was letting the customer keep the controller long enough to fit an apples-to-apples comparison run versus another well-known brand into their production schedule. We were on the floor to kick off the trial with some one-on-one training. The guys picked it up very quickly. We also reviewed how to connect to the Power Analyzer so they could collect
data on two-second intervals on all three phases. We left the controller on site for about a month. They really liked how easy it was to use and the compact footprint.

The molder was happy to share the results – “…that dataset showed a 7-8% power savings with the Fast Heat controller. Thank you for the trial! It is much appreciated. Give me some time to get a comparison sheet made up, the ROI completed, and then submitted to our operations VP.”
I’m looking forward to helping other molders obtain tighter control over hot runner temperature, stabilize their processes, and save energy while making better parts with less waste and fewer interruptions.
