Fast Heat chose to make this their thermocouple cable standard because it was easily distinguishable from the 24-pin heavy duty heater cable. While there is a need to carefully inspect the pins and inserts to make sure they are not bent or pushed back, when it is well maintained it makes a great hot runner thermocouple cable.
A closer look at this design will show that the male pins and the female contacts are actually separate components from the male inserts and female inserts. Both the male pins and female contacts have crimp terminations for the wiring connections.
